Kraft paper is a high-strength paper that is suitable for printing, drawing, chiaroscuro and charcoal drawing, brochure, envelope making, gift tag, handbag making, and so on. Kraft paper is made of chemical pulp which is used in the paper-making industry. Since this paper has a special material and high strength, it is used in the food industry to enable easy transportation and maintain fruit freshness.

Due to the special conditions and procedures of the Kraft paper-making process, this paper is darker than other papers. But this color is a characteristic of this paper. Colors of cream, buffy, camel, coffee, and so on are some of the most popular colors of this paper.

Commonly, the Kraft paper is made of sturdy trees like pines, bamboo, kenaf, etc. In addition to high strength, we should consider another important fact that is the Kraft paper is fully recyclable and brings no harm to nature. Therefore, it is considered one of the remarkable products in the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). The name of this paper is derived from a German word meaning strength because a German man named Carl F Dahl has invented it.
